OMG, I used to work on these in the New Zealand Forrest's!

They were the older air cooled Deutz powered ones, 220A and B series I think, C series went to water cooled Cummins.

they used to work next to Madill swing yarders and help pull the tree's over the landing and also they were pretty good with static delimbers, normally an apprentice's machine, they would graduate to a Skidder if they were good on the Bell. don't see them much these days with Harvesters hanging on the end of a 35 or 45 Tonne excavator doing most of the work and a second Excavator (swing machine)loading out.

mostly in Hill country where feller bunchers etc. cant operate.
