Hello From NC
I am a new member to this forum and forums in general and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Colin(not sure if you use last names), I reside in Concord, NC. I am currently involved in miniature internal combustion engines at the moment however, the long term vision was to come through with a running engine of some sort to run the scale R/C trucks and equipment I someday will start. I am impressed with the performance of models out there today and beginning to think electric doesn't give off a poisonous gas to boot.
I have been going to Cabin Fever since it began in Leesport and have been progressing "very slowly"towards my vision. I am glad nobody here is waiting on me. I think what is being done out here is great, craftsmanship, ingenuity you name it. It is outstanding work!...it sure gives me an inspiration boost. I have tooled out my shop and dedicated it to this hobby, it's nice to know there is such and interest here. Thanks for everything you are doing. I can only hope to make a worthy contribution. Re: Hello From NC
Everyone's level of ambition & skill is different, but the main goal is to enjoy what you're doing to your own satisfaction.. I'm sure whatever you contribute to the forum with the showing of your own efforts will inspire others to improve the hobby for themselves on their own level as well.. miniature modelling in motion is what we thrive on here & your contributions will be duly noted by like minded ppl who will understand what drives you to create the things you do.
Welcome to #1 english speaking forum for heavy commercial RC Colin.

Re: Hello From NC
Welcome, Glad to see another Cabin Fever attendee. I too have been a Cabin Fever enthusiast since it's second year.
I started showing when I bought my younger son 7 at the time, a P&M steam engine that I showed him how to set up and machine all of the parts. Every year we got another kit and finally he built the boiler and piping to run his engine. I too have had the vision of powering my walking dragline with a gas engine. Preferably the Fairbanks Morse 3cyl I've seen people building. Can't wait to go this year! Make sure you introduce yourself to me at the dirt pile. |

Re: Hello From NC
Photobucket.com is a popular free host pic site that's used here most often.. the initial setup of your free account could be time consuming at 1st, but once you're familiar with it it's relatively simple & quick to use for posting pics to forums.

Re: Hello From NC
You could start a build thread titled "Caterpillar D353 (D9G) Engine" in the Constr Equip forum & then I could move posts 7, 10 & 11 there for you.
