Re: Three amigos
Nice setup. The older steam locomotives always look cool to me.

Re: Three amigos
Really nice group! Is this 7/8" scale? Been doing HO since 5th grade, but have really come to enjoy the bigger stuff. My grandson thinks I should do 1:8 outside so he can ride... Grandma is not so hot on the idea, even though we have plenty of space to build in.

Re: Three amigos
Took a look at some of the 7/8" websites and it seems everything is narrow gauge. I'm building a roadrailer in 1:14 and thought it might fit close to 7/8", but didn't see any standard gauge. Think I'll just make some 1:14 standard gauge panel track for display and changing over from road to rail/rail to road operations. Saw that code 240 or 250 seems to be a common rail size used by folks. Any suggestions for suppliers that will deal in small quantities? Any of them near Indiana?
Thanks, Ken

Re: Three amigos
Hi Ken Yeah all 7/8 is narrow guage 3/4 inch live steam would be the closest to 1/14 . If you need rail in small quantity in 36 inch lengths I could send you some I have excess of 250 rail . 250 rail is a lite rail about 40 -60 pounds per yard ,standard guage modern would be 100 pounds and heavier that would almost be 1/2 inch tall . I roadrailer sounds cool are you going to have the rail wheels lift ? The other way would be to find a live steam group in Indiana that might have rail .

Re: Three amigos
Hi ken try www.friendsmodels.com or john@friendsmodels.com . He is in Mass and sells small quantity of 5/8 rail . I think that would look the best . Cut ties at 8x9 inches 9 feet long .if he doesn't have spikes try sunset railways in California . Good luck send photos
