homemade actuator
Need help with electronics! I started to work on my version of actuator for new wrecker that I'm building. To control the motor function I decided to connect servo control board to my actuator motor. It worked, but the problem, its impossible to center the joystick to the dead center, in constantly rotates either right or left. I tried different servo with same results. Any advise?

Re: homemade actuator
Thats a great looking actuator you built there ,I've had my share of drifting servos in the past ,you just need a better esc ,something like this should work ,brushed esc http://www.amazon.com/Turnigy-20A-BR...rc+esc+brushed

Re: homemade actuator
I don't believe that ESC has reverse in it, which you would need. The use of a servo control board can be done but it needs the pot replaced with correct resistors and even that sometimes is hard to get it to zero out.
If you only need to switch the power on for one direction and then power on for reverse, simple Pololu RC Switches can be used. Jim |

Re: homemade actuator
Thank you guys, I was trying to avoid another esc,or I''ll have to many of them.
I will certainly look into the Pololu switch. |
