Oshkosh P-series
I have been working on this for a bit. Slowly getting parts and massaging the styrene. Hopefully it will come out as I am planning. It's by far my favorite truck....building it myself from scratch is much more rewarding. Originally I was going to make it a tractor....but I believe now I will make it a dump, probably screw drive.

Re: Oshkosh P-series
Now this is a great build! You have the look and nice work on the hood. There is one of these trucks that has been fully restored that goes to a big truck show I go to every where the guy brings it in on his lowboy here are the picks.

Re: Oshkosh P-series
That looks great! Nice tires and rims. Are they from Fechtner or AFV? Did you have any problems getting them.

Re: Oshkosh P-series
Totally awesome! I'm a fan of these Oshkosh trucks too! Something built in my home state that I can feel good about! They are really amazing machines! You've got my full attention. You certainly are off to an excellent start. Watch Despicable Me, recently?

Re: Oshkosh P-series
TC: Thank you Sir. Boy I'd love to have that guys truck. I never see any like that for sale, what do you think that would sell for?
Spudd, SW, skl1cent, russ, smallhaul : Thanks Dreamweaver: I made a mold/pattern/jig heated the styrene with a torch and bam! Boy was I happy with that and now tickled I did something that puzzles the masters. hehehe rcman, vanisle: the tires and rims are from AFV, I am going to need some custom hub adaptors for them though. No problems got them pretty quickly. Nathan: the kids had been watching the movie when I was working on the cab, they liked that a lot! |

Re: Oshkosh P-series
I am by far an amateur with styrene. The only other thing I've done with it is my 535 cab. I use Bondene ("glue") a utility knife and a Zona saw.

Re: Oshkosh P-series
It's about the same. Just added some axles and my custom cross members (no,no,no those aren't available for sale-hehehe lol) Waiting for a few (cross members) from my friend near the big water fall. This is a fun one for me to work on.
Thanks for looking. Ben |
