I'd go with something between 600 to 1000 wet sand paper, depending how bad the marks are. Make sure the primer is completely dry and wet sand it. I think 2500 would load up to fast. This question should have went under body shop tech farther down on the main page. you might look through the threads in that section for more and better info. we have some serious paint wizards on here.
