I had this old girl out today as well. When I built the truck I didn't know how long I should make the compensator hitch. It turns out that the length I chose wasn't enough so today I tried to fix it. I added a bit more to it but then had some binding issues as you will see in the video I am uploading. I took it all apart since and welded the added piece to the original so that there isn't a seem between the two. Should be good now but will have to wait until the paint dries. Apparently, heating aluminum to it's melting point burns paint... Who knew
![]() ![]() This load is really heavy! The logs are large fir limbs with very tight grain. I would say that it is at least 100 pounds. I took the truck out into the field to pick them up and went as slow as I could coming back across the grass. It held together so I'm a happy guy! When I was done playing I hauled them right over to my wood shed! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Video to follow... |
