Seams not so critical with the receiver antenna when for our use, when it's 2.4 Ghz, as most are using these days,..just curling the wires, 2 normally, up within the cab somewhere.. Not have had issues with this in my case. One are so up close when controlling the models. If it's an airplane, naturally one will put greater care to arrange the antenna 'according to the book' to maximize reach. The older radios, 27, 40 Mhz and so on seams to be more sensitive regarding that the receiver antenna is properly lined up, you know, in a plastic tube or similar leading out of the cab
