Default Re: My first try to build a trailer...

to lengthen the axels you have a few options.
1 - cut the tubes in half. Thread the internal of each half. Use all thread and cut lengths. thread into the tube & adjust to right length. And lastely use a slightly larger brass tube to slide over top to cover up the thread section.

2 - buy longer sections of tube from PMD - he can special order nearly any length - they take a little while to come in as he buys them pre made.

3 buy more standard length axels, which PMD ussually has on hand, and cut and splice as before but without the brass tube. A little easire to use a long set screw rather than messing with the all thread.

as for the wheels - Wedico expects the plastic half cups that attach the leaf springs to ride against the inside of the hubs. If you need to make a spacer of some plastic or brass tube to match what you want.
