Default Re: A KISS D11 PROJECT

I would suggest that you pick a scale and stay close to that for overall sizes. By looking at your width compared to a D-11 you are building at an-8.48-8.96 to-1 ratio depending on which D-11 model. That would make your tracks 27"-28.5" long and pads 3.125"-3.30" wide. A 1/8 scale dozer will be REALLY BIG but that's okay if that is what you want. Have you looked at this site-http://www.ritchiespecs.com/They have a lot of tractors to chose from so you should be able to find a size you like. Please understand I am not criticizing your work. I know you have a lot of work in this so far and building tracks are tough. I also think you do not have to build an exact scale model to have a nice looking model, but I think the overall dimensions should be close for the model to look good. I personally would not try to build an exact scale model unless I had a real one sitting close by that I could take hundreds of photos and measurements from. Good luck and keep building.
