those springs are very cool and look real! . I would like to build some for the rear of my trucks as the stock Tamiya are way to soft for hauling a trailer load of dirt. While on the topic of springs I have noticed that if you use just a single Tamiya leaf for the front axel it will allow it to operate better when going over uneven bumps. it also helps with traction as the frame does not twist as much and keeps weight balanced better on the drives...
