I'm not sure what to do for axles though. I don't think that the standard truck axles will be wide enough or strong enough. Anyone have a suggestion?
I have seen his tires on some builds and they are nice. How wide are you looking for? The tamiya axles are are pretty stout but not sure I have seen anyone run hundreds of lbs on them.

looking at the size of that maybe something from a mobility scooter would be suitable?
