That is pretty cool. How many radios are used for that operation? Or is it a group of friends?

Thanks ,
Each vehicle had it’s own radio , except of the red diesel-locomotive , which is run via train-track-DC-power and that excavator which was operated just via a wired remote .
The Steam and yellow Diesel locomotive are R/C as well the hopper-cars with the working hatches . The gravel-tower is also controlled via R/C ( elevator bucket – motor and the discharge-slide-servo ) , the half-track is also R/C as well the rail-road-crossing with the working gates . This setup was only operated by my German buddy Klaus and myself ( including the filming ), and yes , we had a bunch of R/C transmitters in use , Lol .
This setup actually started fairly “harmless” as a BOG-A-Ram ,

just as a weekend deal . Here some more photos :

After all my other buddy’s left , Klaus and myself tinkered for a few days ( since during that weekend , non of these loading functions did exist )
and the result was a full driveway incorporating also portions of the backyard .

Very good video and combining LGB with working construction equipment topped it off.

very cool video I love the half track I have always wanted to find or build a half track rc.. I also liked the smaller yard locomotives... Did you set the track up for the weekend only? or do you leave it out all the time.

thanks guys ,
no , it was not just setup for that particular weekend , it’s a permanent layout ( now , Lol )
But only in the drive-way , the tracks within the yard are always just temporally.
I also have permanent tracks inside my garage to park all my railroad stuff right underneath the shelf’s in which are my trucks parked .
Here are some photos from the latest layout :

http://www.customrcmodels.com/Events2008/bog_a_rama_may_2008.htm

Of course my wife was at first hard to convince that this would be permanent,
and by driving over the tracks a few times ( accident or on purpose , who knows , Lol ) ,
did NOT convince me to remove all of that ,
instead I just called the work-force , re-arranging a section of the layout :

http://www.customrcmodels.com/Gardenrailroad/working_on_the_railroad.htm

usually when we play I expand the layout to the left and right of the driveway with additional tracks in to the yard

Looks real sweet , Ive seen some garden railways that have actually become a huge feature of the garden snaking all over the place with bridges over ponds and quarry works of course topped up regularly LOL.

Cool …. Post some photos of your layout !

I used to have a big garden-layout back in Germany .
Used the tanker-cars filled with weed-killer to get rid of the grass in between the tracks
( plus to cut down the time mowing the lawn , Lol )
And for the winter time I had heaters underneath the electromagnetic switches to have them work even in freezing temperatures plus snow-blowers and all that good stuff to make it work in winter time .
Was funny , all the kids from the neighborhood assembled in my backyard and waiting for me to get home from work to run the trains .
This LGB stuff is also very useful for parties . train-tracks from the kitchen ( refrigerator ) to the living-room via a nice big bridge going on the table with all the liquid goodies in the tanker-cars , makes it for a fun way of drinking , Lol
