Bruder dozer servo help
Evening all,
I have converted a Bruder D5 Dozer, using a sabertooth controller and an old rc plane transmitter. I used the elevator and rudder stick for directional control, and the throttle for the blade control so I can hold a desired height of the blade easily, as it is not spring centered. I have decided to use a servo to angle the blade controlled by the aileron channel (left and right on the throttle stick). the question I have is how to stop the servo from self centering, for example; Angle the blade to the left, and let the stick spring return to center, but the blade stays in that position until i move the stick again. Any advice would be appreciated Cheers, Liam |

Re: Bruder dozer servo help
Can you remove the centering springs from that gimbal?
I'm not sure if there's an easy electric method to do it. I think some of the expensive radios have channel cut / channel hold |

Re: Bruder dozer servo help
Im interested to know this as well. I hate the auto-centering when using construction equipment

Re: Bruder dozer servo help
Grab a camera hold module. We in the tank hobby use them for servo elevation of the main gun and to hold position. Could also put one on your throttle stick channel if you want to make it self centering and not ratchet. I've also used them with actuonix L12R series actuators so they are controllable and hold position, won't automatically return to middle stroke on self centering stick channels.

Re: Bruder dozer servo help
Now that is slick! Never seen such a function before, but I'm a real neophyte on RC accessories and such. Could see other uses on construction equipment and trucks.

Re: Bruder dozer servo help
I just installed the camera hold module, it does work, however I was a little dissapointed to find out this only has 1 single non adjustable servo speed, so basically when you move the stick a certain distance from center the servo will all the sudden start moving, and it moves slow at a constant speed no matter how far you move the stick. I used it on a adjustable digital servo and tried messing with servo speeds and such and it didnt really make a noticeable difference. Im going to just it a shot in the sand box soon and see how I like it on delta skid loader but the bucket movement is painfully slow
