Question about RC4WD Wheels.
I'm using a Rigid Driven front axle and I bought some of these wheels;
I also bought some of these adapters for the axle; The adapters replace the part to the right in this photo; So when you bolt all these parts together how do you get to the actual lug nut on the axle? If you are thinking I should put the adapter on the axle, tighten the lug nut, then add the hub cover and then the rim and bolt them all together with the 10 face bolts you can see if these wheels were on the axle there is no way you would get to the bolt heads on the backside of the wheel. |

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Maybe I need these wheels, I can see how they go together.

I will have to work at it more when I have more time but I just don't think there is the kind of room to work from the back side of the rim once on the axle and truck.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
on the red inserts they are threaded of the tiny screw to go in then the rim over and then the nut ,
when I put my ones together I use loctite in the screws / insert let then dry then put the rims on just be careful with the screw you dont over tighten them. Cheers Tracy

I need to correct myself, the backing plate does have threads as you mentioned but I'm using the adapters for a driven axle, this means the original backing plate is discarded and the adapters are used which have no threads. |

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Well, I have my wheel dilemma figured out. Two set of wheels, one set of adapters and some parts of each used here. Good enough for who it's for.

Probably going to do something different with the lug nuts, not really feeling it this way.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Changed the lug nuts out for some stainless nylock nuts and added some acorns to the center.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Well, it's pretty bad when you can't make up your mind on something so simple but I went back to the RC4WD fake hubs and kept the nylock lug nuts. Just wish those center nuts didn't stick out so far.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Those acorn nuts would look better without the standard nuts underneath, but I like how you have used regular nylock nuts, goes with the wheel.
I like those wheels, I want the same ones for my reefer (as the tractor has alloys) as they make good looking singles, problem is I need 4x hex and 2x bearing adapters.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
That was going to be my next suggestion but on the other side of the adapter (if there is room) and you wanted the same offset. I had to do this with some of Steve's wheels to run acorns as the bolts I bought were slightly long.

Re: Question about RC4WD Wheels.
Thanks for posting this as I've been looking at these as well. Im currently using the Tamiya inner rear wheels as front drive wheels with a TLT front axle. But I'd like to go with a wide front wheel and tire. I wonder if they would work well on the TLT axle.
