You sure are good at programming your parts. Very ingenious way of simulating your door panels. I've seen this done on lazer cut sheets and the designer burned shallow lines for the press brake operator to know where to make his bends.

Ari it is looking great and seems to be coming along nicely. I like the way you made the vent panels but one question I have is how are you going to keep them mounted to the side pannels? I don't see any mounting holes in them.

I stand in awe at your talent. What more can I say? This model is right up there with the best of the best I have seen on the forum. Incredible. If only I had a fraction of your talent to build something even 1/4 as good! Yikes!

Looking great.
I see some pics with what looks like prints. Are you designing these complete before starting or just using a parts manual from the 1:1 to go by?

Those prints are from Cat 14M Operation & Maintenance Manual that you can find on there home site. There are many useful detailed drawings of places you dont see on the photos.

WOW, the competition has really ramped up since I build my dozer and pan. I must say you are doing it right, hiding the fasteners as much as possible and all the detail you are putting in this, makes it a much more realistic looking model. Outstanding work!!!!!!

How did you make your circle gear and how are you planning on powering it?

Some unbelievable workmanship there.
The way you milled (engraved) and bent the brass cowling - wow!
Interesting way top offset the motors to allow central pivoting. This will lead to a slight difference in bogie/tandem loading due to torque left and right but probably not enough to cause problems.
In case the motors are not strong enough - I hear you can replace the motor with 380-sized motors, including the rather powerful Speed 400 from Graupner.
