New Hollland TJ480 RC
Well I started this project about 4 years ago. I finally have a little time on my hands to finish it.
Here it is stock Disassemblied and ready for the R/C equipment Installed some tamiya TLT axles Installed the steering servo in the rear section Next mounted a RC4WD transmission with a 55t motor Connected the front driveshaft Mounted a pivot and universial for the rear driveshaft Rear driveshaft connected And the completed tractor. Everything is tucked away nice and neat. I can lift the hood to access the battery and other electronics. I plan in the future to get a set of RC4wd's matt tracks when they come out. It will be probably 4 years from now until i build a folding disc for it...lol. Here's a short video of her running. http://youtu.be/amVuq0LQ3t0 Last edited by hauler_10-4; 05-25-2011 at 09:19 AM. |

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
Very cool! I remember when you first started this project. It turned out great. I like the big meats you have on there. Are those Imex Clodbuster tires? Looks like the gearing and speed is perfect.

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
That looks awesome. Very clean conversion. My son has a JD 9630 that I have thought of converting. Did you lock the diffs or are they open? I almost looks like you need some more weight.

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
The rear is locked and the front is open. Shot the video on a hard packed clay track. Next video i'll shoot in the florida sand and you'll see a big difference. Also might try proline's masher tires next.

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
Went to the hobby shop today and found a more scale looking tire. They are from a traxxas stempede and are the same height as the original stock tires were. I must say these tractors are a blast to run. Just need to build a implement soon though.

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
I really like that tire on there. You just need a big ripper or dirt pan behind it. What gearing are you using?

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
Great job on the NH conversion. What did you lock the diff. with and do you have any trouble with slippage on the rear diff>

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
Used JB weld on the diff and no slipage. Collecting parts now to build a folding disc. Hope to start on it next weekend if nothing pops up.

Re: New Hollland TJ480 RC
He's a perfect fit Jeremy, glad to see he worked out! Looks right at home up in the cab! Wished I'd looked that cool running a 4x4....never could pull off the Burt Reynolds look though, haha.
