You are right Joe the time with the family is the best part but I would have loved to be there when they wanted you to fly the heli as most people have know idea of just how hard it is.

My sis-in-law made me up a goodie bag full of treats as I was leaving/packing up, I set the copter down to accept it, hugs good bye and forgot all about it. haha

I meet with them again at the lake cottage this wkend & see my sister & her two boys for New Yr's. A very wooded area, likely not enough open to keep me from trimming tree limbs.

Do you have one of these Travis? I recall Smallhaul talking about flying one in his house & how tricky it is... and thinking of that, I sure didn't want an audience around me for the 1st ever flight. I read in the instructions "don't fly in extreme heat or cold"... didn't specify what temps are extreme , I may have to wait till summer.

Too many hobbies and projects at this time - I recently got a new-to-me car and most of my Christmas was something for the new car. Varad Undercar strobing LED kit, Varad Hyperled kit for the footwells and Varad Hyperled's for accent lighting the interior - all red. The new car is dubbed 'Santa's Sleigh' - if you have seen me you will understand However before I can put the lights on I need to sort out my tools, which are in boxes in the garage. But before I can sort out the tools I need to finish my office, which is all in boxes in the garage on top of the tools. Somewhere in those boxes are the parts for my truck (except for the simulated air bag suspension which was a gift to myself this Christmas - thanks Russ!). Thus no recent work on my truck - but I will get back to it - soon! I only need a few more parts...wheels, stacks, shocks...

I had a Blade MCX and then a Blade MSR both smaller helis by E Flite and when I got comfortable with them I moved up to a Blade SR. I bought the SR the day they arrived at the hobby shop. We went to the back room where the carpet track is and I was feeling good. My buddy at the shop got it all ready and test flew it and said here you go and 2 min later is when things went terribly wrong. There is something about owning a 3D heli and having it upside down the first min you own it. Well at this point I had a broken heli and no replacement parts to fix it. I walked into the office and told my friend that owns the shop "This ting must be defective" as I am standing there with the heli in one hand and broken parts in the other he just laughed and asked me how, you did not even barely have time to unpack it.

10-4 to that Travy! Long before trks/constr hobby for me, I was just a spectator of those who flew & I watched many of a twenty yr veterans hammer their 1st flight planes into the ground b/c they got lost with the controls performing a stunt that they did many times before... "oops, I did it again!" Cured me from ever wanting one for myself.

Pretty nifty there Dean... gonna rc it?

I recieved the updated "The Earthmover Encyclopedia" http://store.hceastore.com/2416.html The "Earthworm Tractors" dvd with Joe E Brown as Alexander Bott's, Natural born salesman. It's pretty funny for an old black and white movie with Cat product's. http://www.oldies.com/product-view/4426D.html Netflix has this one.
Cheer's, Neil.

I cut some frame rail material with the aluminum balde it came with and it seemed to do fine, it was a short cut, I basically put the saw together for the pictures and couldnt resist cutting something. I think it will be fine for the hobby stuff. So far I like the quality, time will tell how it holds up. I like the wall mount it comes with but walls around my work area are cement block not really wanting to punch holes in them.

I did well this year. Got my MFU for my Knight Hauler that I am working on, and my wife wanted X-box, so in the interest of ONLY making her happy...........I had to break down and get her one with the Kinect feature. Of course I had to get a racing game..........
