The firewood is like a piggy bank for me...and you never know when it might get really cold here.

No video's of loading the Volvo yet but some pictures...I did load and unload the 300 but it will take some practice to be smooth. The tracks run off of switches and are on or off plus my slip ring device has a couple dead spots so its a little ruff...all this while resting my foot on the front of the lowbed so that it doesn't tip up! It's a fairly tough pull with flat tires and no bearings or lube on the axles but it managed.I think it is going to look pretty sweet though once it's finished and painted.

I know that drilling holes in your beloved bunk would kill you, but that would keep it from tipping with some sort of pin? Just a thought. By the way it looks killer!!!!

Yeah I will have to pin it on. Most 1:1's have pins or a loop of cable and a shackle or something. I have a lot more work to do on it but just had to try it out to see if it would work...

Thanks guys. I have never had anyone tell me that they have 'firewood envy' before!lol

Modelman, I don't think I build all that fast I just treat every build like a job that pays by production not by the hour...I guess that's how I was raised.lol

I think I figured out a simple solution to my lifting hitch problem. I made up a hook and welded it to the front of the trailer. Then took a piece of cable and looped it through the ring on the center of the bunk. The natural tension in the cable keeps it on the hook and all you have to do is pinch the loop together and it comes off....no drill holes, drill holes!haha I also added some bracing to the hitch, shortened it to the proper length and add some stabilizer blocks that rest on the bunk if the trailer tips too far(not shown in pics).

Sweet set-up!! I have around 12 cords stacked up every winter, and we burn about half that over a winter. One thing that I don't have is r/c equiptment to help me with it

That's a pretty huge deal to hear somebody say that and I really appreciate it! This truck has become my pride and joy. I don't know if I will ever build anything else that I will have as much pride in.

We only burn about two cords per winter but I enjoy cutting it and the extra keeps the wolf away from the door this time of year.

Thank you for following along! The people on this forum are a large reason as to why I am still in this hobby!

Thanks a lot. The welding can be tricky sometimes but I just keep at it and hope to improve as I go.

Todays progress...I added a lifting strap, deck boards on the reach, and tie downs along the side of the deck.

Another home run Reg! Have you considered some scale rail road ties, to put under the beaver tail when loading the hoe?
Cheers, Neil.

Yeah Rob it was great to chat with you too! Hopefully I can make the drive up there before too long and check out that kitchen you've been using as an excuse not to finish your RC's....
