Thanks DaBomb! Ken, thanks. For colors, I think I'd like to go with some combination of red, black, and silver. Or maybe orange, black, and silver. Then again maybe something totally different - purple, black, and silver? Hard to say. I think when the metal work is done I will have made up my mind. I also think I might send the cab out for custom paint. I'm not very good at that.

Small update! I know it's been a couple weekends since I posted anything on this build, but I am still working on it. This morning I finished up some mud flap hangers! I tried a couple different ideas, while making these, and the version on the truck now is one of three different types I came up with. Version 3.0 was exactly what I hoped for.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rubber looks and acts very scale. I'm happy about that. I'd sure like to get some polished weights on the bottom of the flaps, and maybe a Cummins C logo, but for now, I'm happy with them! To bad I can't find someone who can photo etch the Cummins C for me, out of some thin stainless. I thought about checking with a graphics shop. Maybe they'd be able to print a sticker out of a chrome vinyl sheet or something?

there is a guy on RCC that goes by the screen name MTHead, that can make the cummings logo you're after, and it'll be chrome. he's very reasonable as well. here's a pic of a custom grill emblem he made for me for my yota crawler.
![]() it actually has sorta brushed aluminum look, and has a satin black outline, and they are self adhesive. he can make you anything you want, any size scale. |
