Default Tamiya 8x8 half pipe

Well since I've always wanted an 8x8 but the scaleArt was just a little on the small size for the money, so I decided to build my own. Not starting on the build just yet cause I'm still waiting on some parts, fuel tank style hydro pump and telescopic cylinder and a Veroma 3 speed tranny. Gonna have, pendulum style suspension, locking diffs front and back, servonaut electronics, Meiller half pipe, Fulda crossfires, euro style rims, Man TGS style front bumper, all brass scale hardware. The tamiya kit will only donate parts of the body and fenders. Then the rest will go on another project.

You have some nice parts there. Specially those pricey AFV axles Is the dump body by Servonaut?

Thanks,
Larry

Thanks guys! Larry, yes that is the servonaut dump body. It's really nice and it looks a lot like the scale art one. I just could not find anything that is as cool as the AFV axles.

The dump box and screw drive are from servonaut, I got it a while back now they show out of stock but just email them and they can get it for you. Electronics are also Servonaut SMX and S20. Axles, drive shafts and wheels are from AFV, if you look at the drop down for tamiya trucks you'll see the whole 8x8 setup, the suspension and chassis is from ebay germany. Then getting a Veroma 3 speed tranny, also from AFV. The tires are Fulda Crossfire from Ric at PMD.
I hope this helps.

Thumbs up Re: Tamiya 8x8 half pipe

Can't wait to see that paint job. That will be real sweet with your Doosan loader.

Well here is where I'm at so far, got tired of tripping over the parts so I decided to put them together, I know the tranny looks low but it will not be in the same position as I will have a transfer case instead and I will move the tranny closer to the front. I had the suspension all built then realized it was backwards as the fronts were not spaced correctly. Still need to paint the cab and rims, install all the drive shafts and install all the electronics. I hope the pictures work since they were very small.

This tranny is sooo tiny, I really like it.

Here is how it's supposed to look now that I got it fixed. That's what happens when you build stuff at 3:00am .

Thanks for looking. More to come later.

Do I understand you right?, you are changing out the Veroma trans mission with transfer case to the Veroma with separate transfer case?

Like to see that version too!

I will be mixing and matching things to see what works better, I will be moving the Veroma to the RC4wd truck and maybe the Rigidrc setup to this one. Still playing with ideas.

A friend of mine used the Veroma gearbox on a 6x6 with a dump trailer. It didn´t handle the weight when fully loaded. There are some springs inside the gearbox that give in.

I didn't know they made two different strength transmissions, I knew they made a trans with a transfer case built in, a trans without a transfer case, and a separate transfer case with two or three different ratio options, but that is all I'm aware of. How do I know if I'm looking at the heavy duty version?
