Re: Peterbilt 387
Thx for the pics. I don´t want to go with a shiny one as I fear the work machining it a 100% spotless and polishing it.
I think I´ve made my decision |

Re: Peterbilt 387
It just needs a bit of paint, a bit of glue, numb plates and it is good to go onto the chassis
Thx for all the input guys! Last edited by Quad-Dog; 09-05-2013 at 09:27 AM. |

Re: Peterbilt 387
Has anyone some information about the aircon that is on the back? A name of a manufacturer would help or some more pictures.

Re: Peterbilt 387
I'd like to continue this built, but one of the things I'd like to work on first is the aircon. Could anyone help and name a few of the brands usually found on US Trucks???

Re: Peterbilt 387
Thx for the input.
That tripac goes on to your frame. Does that mean that the trucks above have this boxs sitting on the frame and the little vent on the back is needed as well? or is that a different system? |

Re: Peterbilt 387
Don't quote me, but in most cases the pony pack on the side of the frame provides the heat portion of the no-idle setup, and the unit on the back of the bunk provides the a/c.

Re: Peterbilt 387
Hi Alex,
thx! That sounds allright as I read yesterday that the one on the back is called the condensor. So there must be something sitting on the frame as well. I´ll have to investigate that |

Re: Peterbilt 387
So after some investigation I found out that Alex is totally right there. They are diesel driven and the box is under the skirt or somewhere else on the frame and on the back there is just a little ventilator. I´ve tried to get dimensions of such a box but can´t find anything. Does anyone of you (any truckies around?) have the chance to get the measuring tape out and find out what the dimensions are??? I don´t come across those units here unfortunatelly

Re: Peterbilt 387
The APUs on the trucks at work are all battery powered Quad-Dog, otherwise I'd snap you some pics and get out a tape measure. I'm sure someone on here has better access to the type you are interested in!
