Thanks. I'm going to use the stock stacks with PMD turnout ends as shown in post #425. Once I get the cab mounted I will trim them down and will be a lot shorter.
Thanks Keith. I just realized my biggest hurdle is going to be the paint job! It's the middle of winter, don't want to paint in the basement and no heat in the garage ![]() ![]() Quote:

I would hold off on paint till spring when you can get it the way you want it without having do redo it... hate to see you get a aggravated at it cause of a run or something... looks good the way it is so I'd say it can wait a little longer. .
build is looking great!

![]() Heck, it might take me till then just to figure out how to make everything fit inside the cab! The plan is rather than fill the opening in the back of the cab with styrene, I want to mount a aluminum plate ( anchored to the cab floor plate, not the cab ) The rookie window will actually be where the rectangle speaker I have mounts and hoping enough room below for the 2 ESC 's . Servonaut sound board under the hood....now just gotta fit the battery, receiver and light module ![]() ![]() Last edited by Supermario; 01-11-2014 at 07:11 PM. |

Yeah, I agree with Aaron. There is nothing worse than shooting the paint just to get it done and then not be happy with it, I've got three cabs right now that I just stripped and are on deck waiting to painted again.
Truck is looking great, gonna be a nice addition to S&M trucking. |

What tanks you gonna run? just an idea BUT even if you get custom tanks from like Russ or Steve have them not glue the caps on drill 2 holes on back side twards frame. Find 2 smaller 1600 MAH batteries then cut plugs off, send wires thru holes then up to the cab where they connect together to make 1 3200mah battery that has a switch... then go even farther do like I did on the globe get 3 position switch battery in middle charge lead on one side and truck power on other side... flip right (or left) and bypass truck and just charge batteries, flip other way and drive away. it'll save you some room in that cab.. Just an idea.
you could even put esc or receiver in your step boxes depending on which ones you use too. if you look at the blue dump travis used aeromax tanks I think maybe they are knight hauler and glued the batteries under it.

I was planning on using the stock tanks but now that you mention it, that's a great idea for freeing up some cab space. The ESC's are small. ( same as the ones in my loader as a matter of fact ) I think it would be money well spent to buy some custom tanks. Thanks!
![]() I'm on the rc4wd site right now. Going to pull the trigger and order this light system. It's small and has some decent options and cheap to buy. http://store.rc4wd.com/Auto-Hazard-L...er_p_3132.html I think the charge port is a great idea to minimize opening the truck all the time but when you want to play for more than a charge cycle it's nice to throw a fresh one in, throw the old on charge and keep on trucking! |

See that's what nice about having more then one truck. When one goes on the charge the other gets driven. You could do stock tanks like i have on the blue dump just put quick connect on batteries and use velcro instead of double sided tape. This way you could still swap out for fresh batteries if need be?

This thing may be a better alternative to RC4WD's one
http://www.bel-shop.eu/en-detail-110...stem-dss2.html It provides turn signals, breake light, front light, beacons... Only con is, that I'm not sure about the shipping costs... |

Thanks for the link. that does have everything I want. I already placed the order from RC4WD but if I don't like or get tired of it I can try this one. Thanks again.
![]() Small update on my crappy dump truck build compared to some of the great ones being built right now ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() had an idea for the aluminum back cab plate im using. it will be secured to the floor and not the cab so i thought of doing this.... ![]() ![]() ![]() looks like i also have enough room for power and light switches. thanks for looking. ![]() |

update on the dump truck! With all fitting and electrical testing done its time for final assembly
![]() ![]() also added a new punisher driveshaft and alloy trailing arms ![]() ![]() Now the wiring begins ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() trying to keep it neat, tidy and fit. If I plan on removing cab to replace the battery on a regular basis, its gotta be user friendly ! thanks for looking. Mario |

![]() ![]() Glad you like it. I'm hoping to get more done on it soon! ![]() cant work in my space right now. new furnace installed yesterday, now have to complete studding walls, wiring, insulate and vapour barrier so everything is kinda clumped together in the middle. ![]() ![]() So on a different note I wanted to share pics of what I do when im not home working on RC stuff....... this is a rear frame section of a underground scoop after complete tear down and stripped to bare bones. it gets sandblasted , welding repairs, machining, painted. Same happens with front frame. ![]() then the reassembly begins... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and a few of a dozer from the steel plant coal yard, in for a new engine, torq and tranny. ![]() ![]() thanks for looking. ![]() Mario |

Small update on the dump truck. Finally got a chance to try a few ideas with how to arrange everything inside.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm just wondering if having the receiver close to the speaker magnet is going to be an issue?? otherwise, so far so good. Next is a mount for the servonaut sound board. thanks for looking and all comments. ![]() Mario |

Kinda reminds me of my S10 pickup...except there the subwoofers point into the cab from the box, not into the box from the cab
