Lookin Real Fine Elliot !
Thanks for posting photo's of your build, I really like the way this kit is designed. Very strong, looks like it is made to be used in the environment.. are you going with hyd steering or are you going to go with electric, I went with electric in my ADT and I really enjoy it.. Smooth and always returns to centre.. greg |

Ref the steering, if came with hydraulic rams, I've just built them, as you'll see in the next post... although, I've be interested to see how you used servos to control the steering on yours, do you have any photos? Thanks Elliot

thanks for the link Greg, I wasn't sure how strong a servo would be, but with the that gearing setup, i can imagine, very strong!
Bolted all the bits on… I’ll let the pictures do the talking! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rear flap bolted onto the rear bucket, even this has bearings fitted in the hinge ![]() ![]()

This kit is looking awesome. I believe the words that describes the process of molding the cab parts would be 'vacuum formed'. I can understand why it would take 10 hours to get things looking clean and for the parts to fit well. Still, totally worth the effort, as this is going to be one sharp and tough model, when it's finished. Thanks for sharing the photos! Keep them coming. I vote for white paint, but it's your model, and it looks good in yellow too.

Time to build the hydraulic rams… everything went together easily enough, although fitting the two scraper seals was tricky…
Here is how they looked before ![]() I know I keep saying it, but look at the engineering that’s gone into these… I love it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The tricky scraper seals, its ok stretching and fitting an o ring over something, try fitting it inside something.. ![]() Couldn’t work out why I still had 3 seals over… but every ram was the same… while putting the last one together, I pinched the seal twice… now I know why there were spares included! ![]() ![]() All done ![]()

Thanks...
Boring Video alert... Chucked a speed controller in, along with a 2S battery, just to see how it moves... the hydraulics are not yet connected, but just wanted to see it roll on its own! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_M_g7lqtvo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdItP9s0tCk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_y0aJ4bXM7g

Videos might be boring to you but to the rest of us across the pond, they are nice to watch a persons build come to life even without the hyds.

Looks really good
![]() The articulation of the suspension is impressive. Can't wait to see the hydraulics operational. |

Thanks all, it was ready for some power, so I felt the need to see it move!
Joe, its 13" or 33cm tall at its highest point, which is the rock guard mounted onto the bucket. ![]() or you could make it 12" by removing the rock guard..? ![]()

Built the pump assembly, again, look at the machining detail, there’s even a support bearing on the pump shaft…nothing left to chance
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not much of an update, nor much to look at, but all the hydraulics are now connected… just waiting for the servos, pump ESC and oil… should be here tomorrow! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Elliot. Your ADT build is turning out great. It looks like it's a well built machine, very well thought out to make it all fit in a small space. If you don't mind, the next time you contact the maker can you ask if the pressure relief valve can be purchased separately. That piece is looks well designed and that's a usable part, that' we're all looking for.
Thanks rob |

It lives! The oil arrived today, poured it in, cycled the cylinders a few times, watched all the air come out and voila, it steers and the bucket lifts up… what more could you want! Apart from a loose fitting, there were no other leaks!
Set it up to run 10 bar to start with, but the steering was very slow, plus it takes a while to get used to driving something that bends in the middle! Upped the pressure to 12 bar and very happy now… It can go a lot higher, but not needed at the moment. Programmed the transmitter to only activate the pump when needed, that took a while to get my head around! At least it moves and steers… and empties! I do need a better speed controller though it thermal overloaded towards the end…! Couple of boring videos… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBgVZYWHqL4 Loaded the bucket with 6 x 1.5 litres (which I think equates to 9kgs in weight?) of Evian’s finest and it lifted it with ease… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0WBloKimnU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLjPuIL0EE4 Well happy!

Elliot. Can't believe how fast you got it up and running, Great work. I amazed how tight it will turn, doesn't look like much space between the cupboards. Now you'll have to take it apart for paint or are you going to break it in a little more. Thanks and Looking forward to the reply from Frank.

12 inches eh? may not fit thru the window.
![]() Great vids showing it's capabilities Elliot, thanx for making them & posting on youtube. ![]() Your tile floor, are the tiles 12 inch square? I counted four tiles for the turning radius. I'd up the pressure to maybe 15bar for quicker steering/dumping. Great to see you got the "mix" figured out... that's a trick that blows my mind, it's a "why didn't I think of that yrs ago" idea. ![]() ![]() |
