Re: Mack M75SX
Hope everything lines up ok in there Steve. That's definitely a strong setup if the pinion holds up. Do you have a link to the gears you are using?

Re: Mack M75SX
Steve , here's the pinion http://store.rc4wd.com/HPI-Racing-Be...1-_p_1377.html
the rest I got off ebay same as what I have in the pan only I made the axle housing for the truck . Here's a listing http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-Savage-X-25-...item2eb3d51c69 Oh yes everything lines up thank gawd I didn't want to do it all over I still have to make the axle shafts . I may take the cups off the diffs and run the axle shaft right in . This what the cups look like http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-86864-Differ...#ht_4874wt_872 they go into the spool and you slide a pin through the end then the bevel gear goes over top . mike , your looking at the rear axle components . axle housing done on the lathe thanks Clyde

Re: Mack M75SX
Looks good! I've been following along partly because I don't know much about Mack off-highway trucks and because it's so different.
I was curious how the tandem axles would be driven. Not trying to be nit-picky, but is this the way the axles will be oriented when they go in the truck? If I'm looking at them the way I think I am they may wind up with one spinning forward and the other backwards unless one is flipped upside down. The front axle ring gear will reverse the rotation of the jackshaft. You may already have that taken into account but I would hate to see it happen. Years ago, a couple guys from my area built a monster truck from surplus army truck parts and when they were ready to take it for a drive the axles turned opposite! I'm not sure if they ever got it driveable. |

Re: Mack M75SX
Thanks Guys
Jared , yes , when put together the rear rear will be flipped . I guess I could have went into more detail and made a power divider like the real trucks . IHSteve

Re: Mack M75SX
An excavating job came up All t&m and the customer keeps adding on so I'm not getting much time in the shop but did manage to glue some styrene together in the evening after getting home @ 6:30 as the alum was not welding well ( to much warping ) but this came out well

Looks great Steve! I hadn't seen what you plan on using for the dumping mechanism. What do you have up your sleeve for that? I'm sure it'll be slick as snot.
