I remembered I had some perforated sheet from when i had to make some filter baskets for the coolant canister filters for some of the cncs. Should work fine for the steps. ![]() ![]()

Left side steps made from steel all welded and sandblasted. Test seat printed to hide the speaker in cab. Ill be looking for some smaller chain.

JDH:
Want a source for some finer perf-metal? Look inside the door of any sh*tcanned microwave oven. Thats the only place I could find the really fine stuff. And I'm sure its steel, not aluminum (would be easier to cut if it was aluminum!) I've got about 4 sheets of it, awaiting a chance/opportunity to cut it in strips, and have the edges bent up-&-down on either side so that they can be used as sand/traction-ramps. Three pieces would make quite a few... depending on which way they were cut. And the build looks really great... only thing holding me back from a loader like this (or a Volvo articulated dumper) is my fear of hydraulics. Oh, and saving enough. Then again, the same savings could get me one of Peter Muller's Faun SLT2-50's 8x8 w/ heavy-transport trailer. WhiteWolf |

Lmack, thank you
White wolf, the perf steel is 18 ga and I don't have any problems bending or cutting it. Cutting it is a breeze being it has relief holes in straight lines. Anything thinner would be difficult to weld with my mig. Thanks for the suggestion tho. Rctech, and RCP- thanks fellas. Havin a blast seeing it start to resemble what I hoped. I printed another grill with smaller horizontal bars which looks more scale and did the same to the drivers seat....

You have done an excellent job of reproducing the model. I am the one who originally bought and assembled the model an it was much more work than what you have done putting it together and taking it apart and re assembling it again many times. The instructions are in German and the pictures are that detailed enough to use for putting it to gether. Keep up the great work it looks very nice. Ed

Looks great Jason! Between your printing skills, with the detail parts, and your metal fab skills, there is nothing you can't do!

Yes I dod have more time in building the loader than you do what with missing parts and German instructions and very little pictures to go by. I would have to assemble a piece and if it was wrong witch it was most of the time and reassemble until it was right that why some of the parts are broken and patched or replaced with angle aluminum, it was a nightmare. Printed a few light buckets for the rear end. Lenses are from PMD. Also a cool pic of some chased threads on a wheel hub. Thats all for now.

Update-
Preping some parts for coating. Using a metal based body filler which works with powdercoating. Withstands the heat in the oven and is conductive for powder adhesion...Then I couldnt help but assemble some parts to get a look. Still a work in progress. Waiting on some parts for wiring, and a new S20 which got shorted out... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Assembly ![]() ![]() ![]() rear axle ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The taillights are upside down as the set shown is for the other side. ![]() Printed the mirrors and dash. Lexan came out nice. ![]() Really happy with the look. Now, if I can get it to run as good as it looks. ![]()
