Thanks greg ...you are getting to be a pretty good video producer...Thanks for editing all my rookie operating ...im gona have to practice in my garage this winter...Ben, greg did give it a shot but i like to run my controls opposit so he didnt feel that comfortable yet..Think with about a half hour practice he would be chuckin loads on pretty fast.

Greg, that's some nice shooting, considering how cold it was. Lou, that John Deere is a fine running machine and you should be very proud of your new baby. Sure did enjoy running the Pacific, it's a fun truck to drive and a beast when you got a load on her. To bad there's no vid of me putting her in the ditch at the end.

Thanks for all the comments. The John Deere log loader in in the video is Lou's, we were giving it a test run after his handy work converting it to a logging machine. It is working very well, the bigger logs that Lou was lifting were cardboard tubes that Lou added bark and end pieces to. They are pretty heavy, BUT not as heavy as if they were solid wood...
The photo's below is where I am at with the D8 build. I was surprised at the time that was involved in the building of the blade, not as quike as I would have guessed. ( lots of bends and angles ) I still have a few more hours to get the blade finished...

that is some nice handy work i know down here at a place called fastenal they cary this stuff call liquid metal it is some kind of aluminum and you can poor it and shape it then grind,sand, drill and tap it no mixing at all

Greg. The blade and fittings turned out fantastic. Looks good the way the angles are fitted, very neat. You've been very naughty working in the shop. Did Santa bring you any Coal, I can use it for my steamer.

Thanks for your input guys, Joe I think I am going to try td9clyde's idea. ( thanks Henry ) great idea, sounds like that filler will work well....

It sure gives it a different look with the blade out front, it will turn into a real CHUNK once the ripper is hanging off the back.

the cylinders are from Clippard, they work well BUT I seem to get hosed on shipping every time

Greg that is a very nice job you are doing on the dozer it looks real good. I like the high track that is what I want to do to the Stahl dozer I got if I ever get all the pieces from Germany to finish it. keep up the good work. Ed
