Default Dimmensions on hydraulic lines - Liebherr 954 Excavator

Hi!

As I did not manage to post a thread in "Construction Equipment Tech", I will have it a go here.

My question is about the dimensions on the hydraulic lines in general. The inside of the M5 nipples used for 4mmOD/2.5mmID hose, is slightly below 2mm inside.
On my excavator I have used 4mmOD/3mmID copper pipes as hydraulic lines at the boom. Is it any point using lines with 3mmID when the nipples only got below 2mmID?

Given that the longest copper line is 50cm at the boom, could 1mm smaller ID excess any extra heat or is 50cm too small to make any difference?

I'm no hydraulic expert.............As I understand it, it's always better to go from bigger to smaller. This allows for the fluids to flow better due to being pressurized more. It's kind of like a trash pump, 2" suction tube, goes well with a 1 1/2" discharge tube. This gives good lift pressure to move the fluid.
