Default Indy Planning

Just wanted to mention something Travis and I have been talking about.

I'm planning to build a couple multi-story buildings that we can demolish and transport the debris out of the site. Should be a cool task to perform as a group.

Gonna do some testing to see what type of materials will work best. Pretty sure my track hoe won't care much about stronger stuff.

Anyone know a source for cheap 1:14 bricks? Any other ideas or others building structures are welcome of course. I won't charge anything to tear them down....

Might give these guys a try? they have 1/12 scale bricks, but it might not be very cheap And the brick dimensions seem really small.....

i wonder if you could cut up square sticks of wood to make the bricks. You could paint the whole stick before cutting it up,then glue it

Some of the end dumps are to nice to be dropping bricks in I think the wood painted to look like brick would be easier on the aluminum beds.

This is not a show for shelf queens. I am not saying you have to abuse it but why build it if you don't plan to use it.

I would say somewhere around 3/4 to 1 long and 1/4 to 3/8 tall.

Use Lego, the single row blocks, be a bit challenging to break up, shouldn't cause any scars to you pretty boys.

Hey guys. Not sure if this is the right place to ask.... I watched last years Indy videos. Totally awesome . I'd love to take part this year. I'm up in Canada but Indy is just under 9 hrs from here. To take part in a gathering like you guys put together would be a dream come true! How do I sign up?

Just show up and buy a pit pass and you can hang out and have fun running your truck. I think the pit pass is only $20 and is good for all three days of the show.

Between Nate's excavator and my red truck we wont have any problems breaking it apart. I have plans of parking old red in garage of one of the buildings via the front door.

Hey Nathan, what about making the brick's out of Ceramic material, anybody still do that stuff in your neighborhood (Ceramic shop's). Unglazed might be the trick. Mold's shouldn't be to hard to make????

What about using Plaster of Paris to make bricks? Of course this means you'll need some sort of mold, but that could be pop sticks and some clay, or perhaps even cardboard. Legos might also be an option to make a mold, at least you'd know the bricks would be the exact same size. Also, I'd buy some cheap red paint and dump it in the plaster to color it, or paint it later. Just a thought or three...
