Wow, thanks guys. It is truly rewarding to scratch build any model and not pull it out of a box. It has it's flaws no doubt but. I like it. I'm hoping to get the lights, mirrors and other detail parts put on before next weekend we will see. Thanks again

Ben

Thumbs up Re: Oshkosh P-series

absolutely gorgeous!!! Perfect from the bodywork down to the paint.

Just wow!

*applause*

The cab lights puzzle me a bit, though. Shouldn't these face the other way?

Cheers

Pip

I guess they are. I just based it on how all the lights are on our fire trucks are at work. Guess I'll flip em' around. Thanks.

Ahh, that looks really nice. Good to see an update, finally! I like everything about the truck, but the cab clearance lights. To me, I think they would look better, turned around, 180 degrees. I have no idea what the 1:1 truck's lights look like, but the chrome in the front just looks a little odd, no offense.

Ok, ok I'll turn them around. :-). Got to work on the light buckets, windows and mirrors yet. The other speed contol goes in tomorrow and it'll be moving again.

not to be a stickler for details but the 1:1 scale P series has a HUUUGE steering box hanging off the drivers side chassis rail...

I'm aware of that. There are a lot of things that aren't on my model that are on 1:1.

true and that steering box would be hard to integrate into the scale version

and it's an awesome build, as I have a soft spot for our 1:1 one with it's Cat 1674, (I think )14 or18 Speed Roadranger gearbox and a pair of 56,000 Lb diffs

wouldn't mind having a scale version of it but with a straight cab - (our 1:1 one ended on its side and has a damaged cab) after I finish my Knight Hauler

That was quite an update! It keeps looking better and better! Reminds me of those matchbox/ hot wheels snow plows, except it's a lot cooler!

Got nearly everything on that I have planned for it, only need to make the over cab bar and attach the other set of plow lights to it once I make it. She's all ready for Indy.
