I am working on the Potain crane build. I have a Polk Tracker III 8 Chanel Radio, PMD sell it modified for truck, for $299.00. I got mine direct from Polk for $99.00 It is a basic flying radio, but set up for surface frequency. I will be using 3 Receivers, but using one channel with a 3 way toggle switch to control a rc switch to activate different set of functions. ( ie. Lower crane function, and jib open and close functions.) You can PM Me for clarification.

I would recommend this idea.

a Spektrum with model memory.

the model No's are reciever specific. not sure how it works but I know that when you change model No you also change reciever. This will allow you to run two completely seperate circuits so there is no need for the slew ring to have contacts or have cables running up it. plus you can have your full range of channels.

I am building a LTM 1250. and this is what I will be doing with a DX8

Lil Giant asked how the PMD Polk was modified?
I don't even know if it is modified,(I would hope theirs not a $200.00 markup.) The only thing I see wrong with mine is one joystick is not spring return

I have a 4 channel Tactic transmitter ,left joystick was not spring return, took the transmitter apart ,removed the stop for the joystick, now it has spring return,I suppose it can be done with different makes and models.
