Well, here it goes.

Originally I'm from Iceland but moved to the Faroe Islands just over 3 years ago and since then had two kids. The build treads on this forum has really helped me keep my mind together for the last weeks (the son was sick and we were sent to Denmark for more and more tests which ended in surgery to remove a growth size of a golf ball, he is almost 2)

Myself, I'm 37 and worked in the construction business for about 15 years on all kinds of machines ant trucks until 2 years ago when I injured my back, the recovery process is rather slow but I'm getting better though I'm not able to work yet (kinda getting crazy staying home so much)

I've been in the RC for 10+ years and pretty much all over the place, from 1/18th floor sliders (drift) to 1/8th nitro monster trucks. The last few years I've focused on 1/10th scale trail trucks with Axial SCX10 (which I gave my wife) and a Trail Finder II that has been modified a bit. After all the specialists have told me I shouldn't work on construction machines anymore I've been thinking about buying/building something but having an excavator and dump truck in 1/10th scale would be too big for my taste, also expensive, especially when I'm on a limited fixed income. But still my plan is to start with trying to save up for a 3d printer and using stuff I have lying around to build a 1/14th scale car (I want to have everything in the same scale), I'm in the process of designing a body now and probably make a build tread when I'm further along.

I think this is getting long enough for now, I don't want everyone to be bored to death...

Oh, and also, Hi everyone!

Welcome to the forum! Folks here are very open to sharing info and technique. Several are quite proficient with 3D printing and have produced some great parts and models using this technology.

Welcome to the fun place! I don't know too much about 3d-printing, but I can attest that a good scale project helps with staying sane when stuck at home. Looking forward to seeing your work. Don't be afraid of starting the build thread with your plans and thoughts before you start actually putting things together.

Thanks.

There is a lot of information here and techniques that I'll try out later on when I have acquired more tools.
The last few days I've been looking trough plans from SteinHDan of his excavator, really interesting, as well drawing up my own model

Still a lot of work needed, at least for my standard
