Bob From Downunder is on a distinguished road
Default Transmissions & Transfer Boxes for 6x6

Since I'm new to this I thought a new thread on transmissions would help all of us new comers a lot, since there are many options that the experts know about which could save us a lot of wasted time and $ by buying the wrong gear.

So my questions are:

Options for 6x6 low speed - high torque?
Options to engage and disegage the front differential
RC4WD 3 speed - has anyone used this transmission - how about the gear ratio's - feed back please
RC4WD R2 seems ideal for front diff engagment - what about the ratio - will it be fast

One of the guys has come up with a very neat idea for front wheel drive by including a drive train off the rear of the transmission which has given me a lot of food for thought...maybe adopt the RC4WD system to the front drive worked of a servo?

Anyway lets see what ideas you guys comes can come up with. I'm sure it make interesting reading

Thank you all,

Bob
