Default Sound System Recomendation

I am building a RC 1:12 scale crawler mounted, lattice boom crane that was built in the 1970s and was powered by a 210 HP Cummings diesel. I would like to include a sound system that could create a scale sound that sounds like this engine and that has a starting sound, and can vary the RPM sound with one or two of the SCM controlled DC brushed motor driven hoist drums.
Questions:
1. Are there any recommended sound system brands that are currently sold in the US and if so, who sells them and what are their ball park costs?
2. Also, do I need a dedicated radio channel for such a system, or could I start the engine sound with a switch on the crane and have a Y linked servo pigtail connection from the drum motor(s) ESC ?
I would appreciate any input on this aspect of my project.
Thank you.
