Chris ,
I do have the same axles ,
just loosen up the diff covers ,
then pay close attention to which screw of the diff-covers is right in the center of the axle , loosen that screw , use a short one or add a washer .

Chris ,
I reversed the locking action of these axles .
By default they are not locked , the small external spring on that lever has to overcome a coil-spring on the inside .
Means NON-locked , this inside spring is always compressed .
If you remove that spring on the outside lever the axle will be always locked and only unlocked if you pull the lever . I like it that a way much better , the inner spring is not compressed all the time , and it takes a lot less torque now to push/pull that lever for un-locking the axles .
I just gone use a micro-servo above the axles , inside the frame and connect the servo-arm with a small tension-spring to the diff-lever , ( spring = to make up for suspension-travel ) to unlock the axle

Thanks Travis. I managed to find some online too. Pretty cool mounts. Might have to pick some up.

Hello everyone = a little update ....... Aug 2012 or so I dropped the gear set out of the trans on a full pull on the sled at Indy. SO I purchased bevel cut brass gears. Then after a year and half of putting her through some **** and such I dusted off the grime and took her up to the mid Michigan group event last month. Funny thing happened - she wouldn't back up in first gear - 2nd ok and 3rd but not first. Determined on tear down that the "knobs" on the shift plates wore off the plastic trans parts - probably due to the brass gears,

Soooooo

Metal shift plates and a new case for the trans - had been way to hacked up to put back in

Nice upgrades! Been wondering about those gear sets for the transmissions and what people thought of them. I can't believe you actually wrecked a gear in the stock transmission. Did you always run a brushless out-runner? That's probably why. I see a planetary reducer on the input too. That has to be powerhouse.

Hey Izzy! Truck looks good!
How is that rear suspension still holding up and performing? Any issues with the plastic springs?

There are no decals on the truck it is all paint and the guy who did the paint work is a sick individual, no air brush he did it all with a full size automotive paint gun. He is not cheap but you can't beat the quality.

Here are two build threads on trucks he painted as well

That gear reduction came factory made - had to turn fown the output shaft to fit the helical pinion though.

I like the helical gears - nice bling - joe and others have shown that a stock transmission is plenty strong and durable. No need to do what I have done - even with an out runner. It all domes down to how you drive.

How is the truck running these days Chris? It's a beautiful rig. Curious who made your gorgeous grille?
