This is a really nice build. Plenty of mechanicals and metal work to keep me very interested! You asked about a smaller roller chain. Diamond Chain makes #47SS, a .1475" pitch roller chain. Should be able to source it through a local bearing house - anyone that carries Diamond chain. See it at http://www.diamondchain.com. Also, http://www.pic-design.com and http://www.nordex.com have this size.

Thanks for tips on fishing line idea. trucker n, dabears. i have not had a chance to go looking but i will before i get any more cables what i have bought is not working

Thanks for chain tip sparkycuda i need to look into this before i anchor winch could give me a little more room

Thanks Kerst

Update: i wanted a sliding fifth wheel plate so i used some gear rack on its side with sliding block wedges to lock it all up. i keep thinking there has to be an easier way????

in the pic one block is slid up in lock the other is back. when done these will be covered.

updates

Lift test

lift test was a success so far my problem area is the front axle. those cv joint drive pins broke again replaced them again. i think it has to do with the angle of turn there are no stops on the axle so if you turn as far as it will let you it shears the pin hiiiiim, also the servo for turning has been increased in torgue twice and works good at first but latter both servos seem to lose power and cant turn wheels full turn unless moving? current servo is a JR DS8711 347 oz/in torgue. back to drawing board on those items. the turning radius finally settled at 3 feet not to bad down from 5 feet before moving rear boggie. i foamed filled the two front tires with a product from smooth on and no more flats..

jack weighs 34 pounds

on the water tank (battery box) in the video are two hatches the one on the driver side which is open is the were the kill switch for the battery is. charging jack is opposite that on the bottom of the tank next to that will be the fuse.

i need to hook up the lights and lighting kit which is mounted in radiator housing. and install some tanks. and a lot of little add on and adjustments.

Enjoy. Thanks Don

Awsome build!

I love so many things on this. Gullwing bonnet, very nice (I was thinking of doing one on my army truck build, but decided on standard type). Battery compartment water tank looks great, that winch is mean as and the whole thing just has a great stance to it.

Here is update its been a awhile because of front drive axle. this axle cant take the weight i had this axle out 5 times!!! well it no longer is a drive axle. i gutted it and changed the king pin set up, lowered steering servo and so far much better. i wanted a front drive axle but not to be. in the first dirt test it did good so iam not going to worry about it.

here is finale drive covers

so far its a runner i have a whole buch of little stuff to work on but i can now move on to other rigs.(i hope) the front axle was a nightmare. i need to get differant BEC to power the lights the one i was using blew yesterday? its like ownng a boat hope to start on one of two trailers built just for this rig.

Thanks dabears and YoungGunz

the handles are really nice there from
http://www.ozarkminiatures.com/scrip...?idproduct=552
and 10 for the price

i could not use http://acme.com/licensemaker/ i could not make the size i needed so i got this kit The number #3 kit it works pretty good works best if you have a picture program to work with like photo shop or coral draw. also you will need testors decal spray or the ink will run i got a can from hobby lobby.
http://www.decalgear.com/DG/Category...ode=DM_BUNDLES

so far its a lot computer work but i like it done what you see with publisher and decal program and paint program. but i am buying a photo shop program. you can get free programs like that on the internet too.
