Default New yard means new roadway project

Hi everyone. As many of you know I was creating a backyard Rc park for the rigs
last year. I sold that house and now have a new yard with all kinds of potential. Here's a walk through vid of what I'm up to this summer

This is the next phase in my RC addiction. As much as I'd love to build many more trucks, I now look forward to creating my backyard wonderland a way of enjoying our fleet right at home and create a place for my RC buddies to come visit!

Thanks for looking and all comments and suggestions welcome eh!

Thanks Ian. With all the trees and shade it's going to be a nice, cool area. Literally!

Lol. There's no clover leafs in my neck of the woods so not in my backyard either I wanted to build some kind of overpass or elevated road but I have to keep this a simple layout. I have to consider all the leaves that I have to rake in the fall or make sure it can all be removed before then.

The ground is a nice dirt base already and not much grass to deal with so I'm thinking of using stone dust 1 1/2 inches thick covered with concrete powder. Paint the roads black or maybe use driveway asphalt sealer?
I can get stone dust by the skid steer loader bucket load. I figure 6 should do it.

Well, for now I'm going to stick with paved. speaking of paved.... Gravel plans are not till later this summer when we widen our driveway and I just can't look at all that space in the backyard and not run rigs!
Fortunately, I'm a pack rat and I kept all the shingles from the road I made at the old house and laid them out today. It's a win , win situation. I get roads up quick and easy and it gives me a great visual as to how things will work and can make any change I want now very easy before I commit later this year!

So here is the latest tour of the road.....

Thanks for looking. Tell me what ya think?

Wish I had a yard like that. I would have my garden railroad and trails for my tamiya trucks to run on.

Are you planing to use stone gravel or road grindings....fresh well ground road grindings compact much better than gravel and around here you can get it for free most of the time.

There are going to be lots of roots to contend with at the pit area

I have a railroad set but HO scale just ain't right and I don't have that much track
I said gravel but yes I was planning on using stone dust or crusher fines. I really like the shingles too. Not as permanent as a gravel road. Things can be moved and changed so easily at any time. The gravel pit and loading docks will definitely get the hard packed stone dust treatment but I may stick with the asphalt road for the next couple seasons for now.

Ya, unfortunately I think your right Ian. I did a little shovel jabbing in the back corner by the tarp garage ( which is temporary set up ) and won't have a problem with roots. I might still put a bridge over the gulley after all .

It's been a busy weekend. Garden is dug and planted, Rc park roads built and had a chance last night to do a tour of the road from a truck perspective. Also did some off roading and street run.
I'm very happy I locked the rear diff. Lost some steering but this thing goes all over the place no prob
