thanks guys! Here is the update I was talking about, now I dont think their was ever a 1:1 truck with a fuel tank mount like this but it looked good on paper so I made it. Its almost finished aside from some small spacers for the screws that hold the straps on.

Thanks for sharing the info. Really, this just keeps getting better. The tank straps are brilliant.

Found an hour to work on this today so here it is! Im sure their has ever been a hexigon tank or air cleaner or what ever this is but I sure like the look of it! and it made for an interesting mount..

an old medicine spoon

also made the frame piece that the tank mount bolts to.

I know I know im a harry dude LOL!

Impressive detail and a unique build. The longer one will look more realistic.

Thanks Tim, That aircleaner deal is going to bite me in the rear when it comes time to paint. I made the straps so tight I dont think I will be able to slide the aircanister back through the straps without scraping off all the paint I think a build is so much more interesting when theirs as much handmade parts as possible............. well the truth is im a cheap bastage and I dont like to spend money
I do plan to place as much electronics out of the cab as possible so I can make a full interior. I also plan to do a paintjob like you did on yours (but im sure no where as good)where it looks all dirty..

Moving right along!
built a rear xmember, is it scale to a real rig,,,,**** if I know???but I like the look of it!

also lowered the fuel tanks about a 1/4 inch and it looks alot better now..

Also build a deck typy thing for the frame again not sure its to scale but I like it and it will hold a couple of wooden boxes im going to build to hold some old rusty chains and prybars..I willl get started on them in the morning..

Amazing, the rear xmember looks fantastic. As far as the trailer, I think the longer is better looking.

thanks Tim! I tell ya paint work is not my strongest area of scale building lol. I will try what you said on the air cleaner and mask it for paint. I personally think the T650 is done perfectly its the first time I have ever seen it done on a semi and its what gave me the inspiration to do it mine.

Great build!

I think the long trailer looks better - but you could do a short trailer with only one axle and then the proportions would also be very good, I think.

thanks for the input on the trailer guys! I think your all correct so Im building a 23footer.

Not sure if dump trailers are built exactly like this, but I this is how im building mine so if its not scale we will just call it a custom

i know it looks a little sloppy but I was in a hurry to go out so..

as soon as my 5th wheel and kingpin arrive from joe I will be able to sit the height of the axle mounts..So I will just keep working on the ther rail and the crossmembers till it shows up..

Ahh, now we're talking! Building the trailer frame rails out of brass, and including the proper web or channel. I like that! Been following your build on Scale 4x4, but it's to see you sharing the build here too. Keep going..!
