I'm interested in anyone making a Freightliner Bird hood-ornament.

now that is a little harder, and something I can not do with my cnc machine.

it might be best to carve one out of plastic, or aluminium.

Yeah, I know. But you know you're going to want one for your truck when you're finished with your build. If for no other reason than just to say "I have one!"

If you could get a cad file on it might be something easily 3d printed.

Can't wait to see the freightliner grill, might have to change my day cab to a freightliner to go with the Cascadia.

Hi All

here is what I plan to make for my Freightliner Logger

it will start as a solid 8mm thick piece of Aluminium

I have drawn it up with CAD software and taken a jpeg so you can see the drawing.

let me know if you think the top section is big enough for the name badge or should it be bigger?

cheers
Paul

First Grill of the machine, a few errors/marks on it from me interrupting the mnachine but I will live with them, made a few changes to the cad file so it will go from start to finish should I have the need to make another one.

I'm glad I don't pay myself by the hour, Id be broke after the time I have put into this, glad I love this Hobby

and on the Hood

this is the Back, and its a much easier one to make should I want to make this one in the future

Question Re: Freightliner grill

Would that fit on a Knight Hauler?

Thinking of changing my Knight to a Classic. Would be an interesting build.

I'd be interested in seeing if someone was able to make one for themselves. Then if it worked I'd be interested in if it could be reproduced and how much it would cost.

I did some measuring and found that the Knight Hauler grill is most likely the better option for my build - both financially and cosmetically. Thank you for the offer Paul.

Hi All

made a couple of new Grills for a couple of fellow truckers, I have narrowed the slots a little so I can drill and tap the M3 threads needed to hold the Grill to the hood.

During the milling stage

After the piece's have been cut, next to their lights

and the finished product with the screws in the back

Enjoy
