Default Pete 379 wrecker

I ended up with this wrecker through some horse trading and wanted to make some changes, I hope to end up with a Century class type wrecker.

This is how I got it.

[IMG][/IMG]

I cut the box down a bit

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Then I cut new rails 3" longer and added the so I have a little more room for all the electronics including a new MFU.

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Made a temp set of 3" tanks

[IMG][/IMG]

Made a new light bar, and that's where I'm at right now.

Wow looks like I built a"Hooker" for a truck. I think this rig has been passed around more in the last six months more than any truck I've seen on the forum. It'll be interesting to see if this truck ever gets finished by someone on here.

Can't wait to see what you do with it or if you finish it.

The cab and wrecker body look nice. I don't like the front bumper, but it's a pretty nice truck over all. Makes me wonder why it hasn't been loved much.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the bumper either. I ordered a few new ones to see what fits best.

Small update, I made some doors for the wrecker bed and used some sleeper handles frame some old cabs and sleepers that were not going to be used. Added some 3mm square lenses and fabricated some diamond plate caps.

One side finished

Lovin' the lights, and details on the body. It's looking really nice. I think you're the guy to finish this build.

That is a great-looking wrecker Kaf! Those tool boxes look killer! The diamond plate really completes it. Lets see some progress!

Looks great Keith. I realized after getting rid of the paddle latches I will be needing some. Oops. Rolled edge of the diamond plate looks great too. How'd you bend it? Do your doors on the body open?

Ben

Thanks Ben, I thought about making the doors open but it would have taken to much rebuilding to make it happen. I bent the deck plate with a 48" finger brake.
