thanks guys I'm really pleased the way it's coming out considering I'm using scrapped material for it the axles are cut from stock for wrap around bumpers that was .125 " to short . the counter wieght is cut from a 1" plate we found on a job back in the early 90's left by pipeliners the drill motor is from a drill I thought I could use on job sites for instaling elc. conduit on concrete walls for elc. serv. without lugging the gen. around (big fail) . So instead of it sitting around collecting more dust , why not put it to real use . I still need to make up the spool carrier ( in steel ) that'll have to wait till I get done with alum. so I don't mix chips . I took a hit on 3 out of 4 55 gal drums full of chips because of it .

What sort of differential are you planning on using in this beaut Steve? I've been spending a lot of time on a design for a very small LSD for my loader build, but am thinking are they actually needed? With the weight these scale loaders end up, do they actually lift a wheel with open diff's? Sorry, just picking your brain here

Cheers

Glenn

" do they actually lift a wheel with open diff's " not sure what you mean here , Glen I'm using the hpi savage steel diffs out of a nitro truck . they seem to handle some abuse . only time will tell .

I took some time this weekend for myself to unwind to figure out what to do to solve a production issue on hubs so I made some more parts for the axles . when running 2'nd op in the mill for the spool carrier on the same jig that I use for hubs , it still f'n off any how it was a long night but I managed to save the carriers with a pressed in brass sleeve . well enough BS I did take some so so pics

rear axle assm.

front and rear axle assm.

carrier and axles

pivot assm. and parts

steel sleeve over alum. for better wear protection

thanks for lookin

Thanks Steve, yep, I'm using savage diff's too I'm trying to contain the conversion in a standard savage diff casing so I can retro fit at a later date.

Very nice looking axles!

thanks Nate , CNC is cool but can cost you in the back pocket quick

yea there a big 1 Neil , I use to get loaded by a 992 with a spade nose in an old coal pit where they were crushing the lime stone over burden . 1 corner of the bucket 12ton for my lil 12' box . was something to see a tire higher then my cab

fixed my wheel jig thought I would never use this

10" face mill that came with the machine heavy as heck so you set it on the table and bring the spindle down to it

Wow! Great job on these axles! As we said before, CNC is a thing, the man behind is another one This loader will be a beast, can't wait to see it works!

That's looking mighty fine, Steve! The new camera seems to be a good improvement over the old. At least we can see what you are building now! So how long before you start mass producing these 990 loaders?

IDK Nate , right now it's my escape from making truck parts who knows maybe down the road someday , as for cat , not sure , depends on them right now I'm building the machines for me .

thanks Reg . Dan cnc not easy as it seems I can't imagine starting on cnc machining without some manual machining experience

Wow. looks good Steve!
Guess has to talk to Santa already today, a new mill would be great.
Suggestion for moderators, with all those fantastic builds coming now built with CNC, maybee there should be a special headline for CNC tech/questions (under RC Tech section??)

Will follow this build closely!
Dan
