Here comes the last pics of the rebuild

First is the difference between the brushless and brushed motors.

I had to grind some grooves on the sides of the transfercase otherwise the steering cylinders didn't went free.

This is the inside of transfercase-cover, as you can se there was plenty of material.

Drivetrain finally in place, not the best looking installation but it works and thats the important thing.

Very steep angle on the rear driveshaft but i think it will work.

There are absolutely no place over.

Wasn't happy with the placement of the soundmodule, so when i thought about it there are very little space in the front. Did som measurements and just maybe it would fit. Sadly i was unable to get it in place as a hole unit so i had to put it in one piece at a time.

Lucky me the SMX is in three parts. Lover circuit board.

Upperside of the upper circuit board, and the aluminium heat shield

Underside of the upper circuit board.

Here it is in very tight space.

Loader back together again,

and it's got a driver.

The new drivetrain is excellent, no slack and almost silent.

Recorded two short films with my phone. The first is without enginesound from the SMX.
WATCH OUT FOR 3:45 I move the camera and it's loud.

Second is with the SMX on and it takes away all the other sounds from hydraulic pump and drivetrain

Tight spaces! Grinding and cutting on such an expensive model and parts couldn't have been a good feeling.

Looks like it works nice.

You are absolutely right Claus, it doesn't feel good.

I think it works, the real test comes next weekend when i'm going to Oslo Motor Show

Wow, great job on the rebuild. I'm very curious what you have in mind for the extended hydraulic system. I think I'd try to build a log grabber, but a fully functional snow plow would be cool too.

Pallet forks and log grabber is something i'm thinking about

Hello, You have done a lot of modification to your 966. I am just beginning my modifications. I had a question for you about the Servonaut electronics. I have just installed the BMA, S20, and SMX. I do see that Servonaut will tell you not to use the SMX with the BMA. They say to use the SMT. But I installed the SMX anyway. Everything seems to work great except the reverse beeper does not work. I got into the setup menu and andjusted the volume for the reverse beeper, but it still does not work. I do have an SMT also. So I tested that too and still no reverse beeper. I noticed on some of your youtube videos that your reverse beeper works with the BMA, S20, and SMX. I emailed Servonaut, but have not received a response yet. Do you have any suggestions for me about the reverse beeper? Also, why does Servonaut tell you to use the SMT instead of the SMX with the BMA?
Or does anyone else know.
Thank you so much,
Eddie

Hello

That is a strange problem, it should work with any of the soundmodules.

The reason for using SMT is that you get a diffrent enginesound on that module, SMX doesen't have that function. I dont care about that sound so i went for the SMX, and it's just plugged in to S20 and reciver no direct connection with the BMA.

Sorry i cant help you but i have posted the question on both the norwegion and swedish forum. Hopefully they can answer

Thank you for the info and the help. You also replied to my friend MoRockN, he was trying to help me too. I stick with my SMX and I will try more bench testing to try to figure out the reverse beeper. I will let you know if I figure it out. If you hear of anything, let me know if you would not mind.

Also, that black V-plow is awesome. I see the video where you have it in a vice. Do you have any videos of it plowing snow? Or maybe you haven't had the snow yet. Anyway, I Plowed snow for 15 years and I operated a V-plow similar to your build. So your plow is very realistic. Were you able to cover the bottom gap in the middle under the center hinge? That is a location on the life size plows where we were always breaking off the boot that covered the gap.

Thanks again,
Eddie

Get a couple of reply's and with the SMT you should have eurosound for the backup beeper to work with the SMX it should'nt be a problem.

Here are the wiring diagram for S20, SMT and BMA.
http://www.servonaut.de/shop/media/p...1295631318.pdf
The only thing i didn't conect is the kable between BMA and SMX

Sorry no more videos on the plow, the one on YT is just the first test it's completely disassembled now We do have the snow, sadly there is some problems with the new drive
I'm gonna use some kind of rubber over the gap, time will tell what works

My V-plow that i started on over one year ago is almost finished

MAde a little test, one of the quick connections to the hoses has given up so i could only test on side

It looks like the plow is coming along. A hydraulic V-Plow is so awesome... Yes on all of the V-Plows that we operated for parking lot snow removal, we installed a piece of flexible rubber between the two wings at the bottom just under the center hinge pin. This helped to prevent a thin strip of snow remaining after each swipe with the plow down.... Anyway, I will watch for it when it is done.
As for the SMX, BMA, & S20 combo. Thank you for the suggestion on the last reply. Also Servonaut replied to my email that I sent them last week. I asked them the same question about the reverse beeper. Here is what the said in the Reply: Quote from Servonaut:

"""Connect the SMX directly to the sound output of the S20, not to the BMA. Then
you should here the beeper. Use the SMX small black & red wires names F4 and
connect them to the hydraulic pump motor. This is a alternative wiring, moving
the servos will not change the sound, but turning the pump on and off will."""

So, I will have some time later today or tomorrow to bench test that wiring. I will let you know. Thanks again for the suggestions and help.
Eddie

Yes the winter is still here, but soon spring is here. I coudn't use my loader, last snow was very wet and then it froze. So i had like 2inch of ice on my driveway Not ideal for the machine

Yes this week we have had really nice weather up to 10degrees celcius, 50 Fahrenheit. Almost all of the ice is gone so its time for the bucket again

Hi, sorry it took so long to get back to you... I did get the Servonaut stuff figured out for my 966. The F4 wires connnected to they hydraulic pump ended up working fine so I left it. The back up beeper works now. So once again thank you for your help. The Servonaut is totally amazing compared to the Wedico electronics. I even installed 2 speakers and a smoke unit.
By the way, nice plow stuff. I watch your youtube videos. Here is one a link to one of my videos on my youtube account if you want to check it out. This is a straight plow on my 574. We have had a good amount of snow this season, so all of my videos are in the snow. Thank you, Eddie

Good that you got it working Is there anything so just ask, I only run Servonaut electronics in all of my trucks and machines except the excavator.
I don't even know how Wedico electronics are, looked at the wiring diagram then I threw it all in the bin and ordered Servonaut instead: D
I have looked at some of your videos too, good stuff

Wow I do like what you have done to this machine it looks great. Where did you get the chains for the wheels from as I could do with some for mine?

Thank you

Thanks again.... Yes the Servonaut is amazing. I have slowly been converting all of the electronics to Servonaut for all of the machines except the excavators.
My 966 is jammed with stuff and no room for another valve, so I will someday add a valve to my Graupner 574 for a V-plow, so it is nice to see your build. That is a project for next winter. I am in the middle of the USA and we are just finishing the snow season here.
