Great topic.
Well I'm a newb to this fine hobby. I don't have any trucks...yet. Looks like I've got some catching up to do. What's a good first truck to build? I'm leaning towards the Knight Hauler. Any advice?

Too many RCs and not enough pics!

I have 1 King, and 1 WIP King, a dry van trailer, and a flatbed, and I've been in this hobby for 2 or 3 years! So don't worry about taking it slow, Buzzy!

But Sue...

Remember a friend used to tell me (and we always had a swimming pool in the back yard) " Never jump in head-first, 'cause the first part that'll take damage is yer head, right, and inside's yer brain. So, are ye stupid, or just crazy? "

So we ALL gotta be a little 'bent' don't we? Either toward crazy, or styupid, or perhaps ~both~?

My dad never understood my hobby, but when I compared it to some others, he relaxed, as there was always ~some~ colateral in it (unlike other 'hobbies/habits, be they material, smoked, drunk or otherwise ingested)

He still hates the clutter, but " I'm not the mooch my nephew is " (and ~that~ ALWAYS shuts him up, ending the argument!)

Heck, its a vice that won't give us cancer, ruin our livers, though it may leave us begging on streetcorners...
- " I need a new hydraulic pump from Germany, can ya spare a fiver? "
(* insert canned laugh track & music from Benny Hill *)
(* PS And if you've never seen him, look it up! *)

Okay thanks guys...now I feel real inadequate. I only have one. I guess I'll have to work on my problem. Anyone know of a 12 step program for single truck owners? I figure the only cure is to BUY MORE TRUCKS!

It would appear in this thread that there is in fact a proper number of rigs to have, and that proper number is.........current inventory +1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have yet to committ to a purchase yet.....so I should relent to the pros.........

Only been messing with the trucks for 2 1/2 months already have one truck built (Aeromax) one pole trailer and a 40' container outfit there is also a king hauler waiting to be customised a little just waiting on a pile of parts to turn up and that is just the trucks
Also have quite a few 1/10 cars (three Tamiya F1 cars still in boxes)and half a dozen 1/8 trucks three HPI baja's and a 1/5 SCT and a 1/4 scale yankee F7 waiting to be put back into one piece.
Then there are the Planes balsa kits from Royal/Marutaka , Pica ,Top Flite and a 1/4 scale Balsa USA nieuport 11 and kits from several other manufacturers Then there are the Quads , Helis and a boat.
Mozza tells everyone that I don't have a hobby but I have a serious addiction.
If it is an addiction I hope they never find a cure.

Ian

Well, the way I look at things, 2 x weekends on the beer, waking up every Sunday, with nothing to show, but a hangover, = one nice truck if ya dont , and you have something to show for it, and its an investment.....bonus! So, get them while ya can mate!
that's what i was telling my old lady sharky but im still waiting to get my first truck but between youtube and the several forums im on i already have like 10 trucks a couple trailers a forklift, excavator, a couple sprinters, and a few cars already planned! now if the funds would just keep up!
