I don't want to go to the local hobby shop just yet, It could end up costing a lot.( usually dose , all those shiney things)
cheers for now.
going to redo the decals on the arm as not correct and also theres a few to go on the motor housing .

ps the loader is only allowed inside if it sits on the newspaper LOL.
Holy smoke! I thought the top photo was of the real one and I was about to comment and say nice job on making scale decals to match! ! That top photo looks so close to 1:1 and I looked at it several times. The only thing that gave it away was the red color transmission.

all right time for some updates.

excavator:
ordered a sound card from eagle machinery ( same as my loader)
and crammed it into the excavator, am running it of the 4th valve so after my Y cable (signal reversing) turns up it should be all go.

have also made a few decals for the rock truck,

also had a slight problem with the loader.
had a rear wheel come loose from the axial, emailed tang at eagle machinery and got a detailed how to do , remove wheel, remove ring gear, pull axial, pull washer , look inside and find 4 small bolts holding planetary gear to axial housing tighten up and all good.

new drive motors for excavator have turned up so will fit those when I have a bit of time, also front fenders for loader here and painted.

also have eight more diggers, early one morning on my way to the shed for a bit of play time and I spot this.

heres a real quick video of the sound card, flat battery.
you can see how the revs drop when the sticks are moved, the signal reversing lead will fix this.

cheers andy

heres a better video showing the issues I have .
sound card wont shut down, because Im using the 4th bypass when there is no stick movement the revs are high.
in order to shut down the sound card I have to stop pump, use a stick , drop sound card revs then use a track and all shuts down.
when the reversing lead shows up all these steps will be gone, hopefully

thanks, since Im not allowed a real one I will stick with the little ones, problem with that is theres all these little things you can do to make them more life like, adding the sound changes everything , then theres lights and paint and ,and OMG this is getting out of control.
time to go and replace track motors and have a play, need to get my RC fix today.

cheers andy

Have just finnished installing the new track drive motors.
Found out why the tracks were jumping, I have sheared both pins; probaly due to driving small gravel and ignoring the bad sounds .
I didnt have 2mm by 35mm pins lying around .
measured a few pop rivets and they are a perfect fit.
1 battery flat , new motors work sweet and the pins are still going strong.

ok, finally bit the bullet and got another lowboy for the fleet.
was a stock standard rc4wd lowboy but it needed some upgrades.
all the fleet trailers are red so ,out with the spray can.
also cut up some 5mm MDF sheet and used a slitter blade in the grinder to make some fake planks.

cheers paul,
waiting for better weather then a few more outside shots.
got the conveyors finished and running good.
need to put loader back together, had a bearing failure in the rear diff.
input shaft bearing toast!
got a new gear set from manufacture (free) and put some shims in around main diff gear bearing, and milled a bit of clearance for the diff lock leaver ,also rechecked front diff and fitted shims, milled a bit out the same as rear diff.
need to find a bit of time for a play to see if it is all good.

cheers andy

Thanks. Had to get a few while it was still all shiney..
now I need to try several batterys in the loader to see if my fix is going to be long term.
I can see why the bearing failed, just really bad clearance in the castings and a lot of loading.
I see this all the time at work on the cheaper electric motors that are fitted to some of the machines that get installed buy the bean counters.
they wonder why maintenance cost is so hi.
need I say more.
dose any one know if theze are the same axial setup as the armagedon dump trucks and do thay have the same issues.

put loader thru so rigorous testing ( just a bit of play time)
and all going well, battery flat again so the excavator needed a bit of a work out.
all going well.
don't know whats up with the mic on the lap top, I may adjust it with a hammer soon.

anyway heres a quick video of this mornings testing.
