Yes the dozer has been useful for projects around house, as long as they don't need done in a timely manner.

Rain today so looks like some shop time. .

Starting on hand rails. I know the front grate isn't quite scale looking but with the brake I have I just can't get two bends that close. Wanted to have six ribs but three will have to do. Not wanting to make up a press jig just for that. And with steps and handrails it will not be noticeable. (At least for me) .

Coming along very nicely. Rain here as well but I work inside everyday. Can't use rain for an excuse to work on my projects.

The grille look fine, most of us are just waiting for dirt time! Did all the fuzzy type critters get banished from the new shop?

On the steps I made them just like rise and run of building regular steps. Just by luck I went with 10 steps including top so my measure of 6 1/4" was .625 rise on each step. I used the edge finder for edge of step stringer and some angle blocks to position on table. Then just moved mill .625 for every step and a tread of .85. Nine times for each stringer. Like in that pic I sent you joe I needed a large flat surface and had to remove the vise to get it. once the math is done that's when the dro really helps out. Just hit zero move to next one ,,,repeat.

Well now you brought up the animals not working I thought you may get a kick out of our fawn Great Danes Halloween costume. The pic is not him but from a facebook friend of my wife's. I think she ordered it already.

Oh and yes I'm going to be tacking the steps, maybe a dab on topside to smooth out where I cut .

Going to try and make handrails from alum, I found the right temp and way to get some right angles, without stress breaking it. Don't know what type of alum it is but it's what I had around shop. The pieces on top are just some test pieces ibent up.

And a pic for Mario, look it's just like what's in your shop at work, hood is off and pulled motor!!! I know you are probably busy moving,, something that isn't fun after you start doing it!!! But it will pay off later

Only thing missing is all the dirt , grease and crud !
Ya, was busy moving and cleaning but now the house is sitting, no sale yet. Lucky we kinda already "own" the new house and able to move most of our crap over there already but the RC shop has been closed and kinda second fiddle for a few months now.
If the house don't sell by end of November, I'm hunkering down in the old basement and get some work done! I was smart... Haven't packed up my man cave operation yet for just this situation.

Had to look at it a couple times to realize that it was a Dane! My LHS has a big red long hair cat that they shave like a lion during the summer, who ever does it, does an excellent job, looks just like a miniature lion.

Well scratch that 1/8" aluminum hand rails!! Pretty hard for me to weld, just one wrong twitch with the hand or foot pedal and poof!! Instead of welding pieces together I now have a big gap between them!!! So some rails are alum, ones that are back welded to cab and ladder. The others are steel. Proving to be difficult to secure or clamp while tacking. .
