Wink New truck to me...MACK

Well it's not the super sought after D&B rig but its a start for something different
It's around 6 1/2 wide and 11 long for just the cab so I think it will work. What do you guys think does it look the part?

Not bad, Dan. What are your plans for the truck? Mini RC Mack? I think it looks pretty good. The bulldog on the hood kind of looks like Yoda, in the face, but who is going to look that close anyway?

It's not so much a mini the cab is close to king hauler size I remeasured and the cab itself not including the chassis is actually 7 1/2 wide and 11 1/2 long , but yeah eventually ill do a full build on it, couldn't tell you when but sometime after I actually finish the other builds I've started. I swear I have builders ADD sometimes, ill start and not finish or buy most of what I need and not start etc lol.

Gezz, Dan, maybe that's what I'm suffering from also. Builder's ADD. I see your bench is cleaner then mine, but it also has unfinished projects sitting on it.

I didn't realize the size of the truck. Those dimensions put it somewhere around Tamiya and Wedico size. Hmm. Well it will be a interesting build then!

Yeah it kinda falls closer to the wedico but even those look decent with tamiya trailers and stuff. I may have to finally bite the bullet and pickup a wedico chassis in the future. If that happens then I know ill never finish a project because the money I'll dump into the suspension and axles, I may have to take out a second mortgage lol. Not sure if the wife would be too happy about that Especially with the newborn baby we have......

I normally try to keep my areas clean, it helps with focusing on the build at hand by not seeing all the other parts and stuff for other rigs. The one in the pic is where i do most of my chassis work and its got 2 builds on it not including the mack and thats pretty rare for me and probably why neither is really getting done. As for the other bench where I normally do my body work it is a disaster with styrene and body parts and tools and is hard to keep clean because of shavings glue etc etc.

Great find Dan. Several years ago, I converted a MACK like yours into a day cab. And Ryno from "TRICK MY TRUCK" airbrushed a super "fire" with skulls blended in paint job. So have you thought of a day cab? Either way it will look fantastic.
Can't wait to see the ol' bulldog come to life.

Thumbs up Re: New truck to me...MACK

That's a good truck to start with, Dan. I have two of them, one that's black like yours and one that's blue with a slightly different cab design. I still have to do something with them. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart when they were on-sale for only about $20 each.

Have fun with your build. It will be good to see how yours comes out. I always figured on using a tamiya undercarriage and just building from there.

Yes sir, that's the other truck. Not bad for a cab to start with... So many possibilities.

Nice cab IH, I've always liked that body style with the high top. I've never seen that one anywhere before, but Ive run across a couple of the style I got on flea-bay and It's nice knowing their still out there. It's just blows that people are always waning an arm and a leg for them on the bay last one went for $165.00 that I bid on.

It looks like a decent size compared to the wedico so I WILL definitely go that route once my finances will let me, so for know it will prob hit the shelf and collect some dust.

Does anyone have a build thread with any of these bodies, that they could share on here?

Wow ive never seen these before. I'm sure in the hands of some of you fellas, there are gonna be some bad bulldogs running around some of the meets. I personally like the vision, could be mad into a more modern updated version of the rubber ducks truck from Convoy.

So here one for you MACK heads out there, the rawhide seems to be a mix of a few models to me. It most resembles a 90's CH series, but the grill doesn't match those? It looks like more of an early 90's RW series but the lights don't match those? So am I missing a model line it most resembles?

I know its a ways out before i actually start a build, but I'm looking for some decent 1:1 reference photos to use so I can start researching and planning now. Thanks for any input or help you can give.

At 1st I thought a CL713 But the CL ( from what my book states ) is the "power house " of the construction line up . My book only goes up to the vision . That 1 may be for the ausies (titan maybe )

The mack rawhide is a u.s. truck. There was a pinnacle version of the rawhide, and a granite version of the rawhide.

Talking Re: New truck to me...MACK

I always thought the black one was a 2007 Mack CHN613 and the blue one was a 2007 Mack Vision CXN613.

They certainly match up well enough
