Those wheels were actually what I thought I was going to get when I first started to think about building this truck. I'd seen them on other trucks and really like the look of them. Then I saw the price of them and knowing I was going to have to remove that pretty white finish on them in order to paint them the color I needed and no, decided I needed to go another route. All ten of the white plastic rims I bought were less than $20. Less than a dollar for the plastic rod and cement and I was in business. Besides, for me, a big part of the fun of this hobby is figuring out how to make the parts I need and then making them.
