Smile IH5900i heavy haul tractor

since I built my detachable to haul my pans (scrapers) I needed a truck that looks like It can handle it so here's what is on my mind http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetai ... ID=2361583
So far the cab is roughed in and being shaped along with details added . Chassis is almost done . This will have my much loved 10 holes on it . enjoy

decided to put an interier in so had to put the electrics somewhere

here you see the lift mech. for the pusher the carrier bearing and all the other little details I made

thats it for now will do more later

thanks for looking
IHSteve

I know I've told you before Steve, but I really like this truck. The grill turned out great and I like your suspension. Looks like you are waiting on airbags now? Always good to be reaching the home stretch with a project.

I almost had another blow up today and said screw it I'm working on my stuff I'm sick of seeing my cabs turning yellow and the $ star frame rusting . this coming week should be un interrupted last week was supposed to be , ha not . Then this place starts up and I get in 1 of those competitive moods and started posting when I should been buildin , well I guess I'm just real happy about this place so I'm better now as you can see
here's another

after staring at the pics of the real truck the grill assem. just did not look right . So while making wheel hubs I fixed it then made the insert tonight . also got the wheels on that are supposed to be . I wanted to cut 10 diamonds in them but thought they be to small to see anyway (maybe later ) and put the remade lift axle on And we're getting closer to paint :chug:

thanks for looking

The grill looks great, Steve! The rims are really nice as well. I'm curious how you made them. You must have a lathe too. How do you drill the holes and get them perfectly spaced? You must have a manual turntable?

Thor , Nathan , Ed thanks
Nathan ,yes I have a very old 14" lathe .I want to get a cnc tool room lathe with a 2.5" spindle bore I had a fixture made up for me . so I can make 10 , 5 , and 2 hole for now . the 5 and 2 hole steel I used to oval the holes with a mill cutter in my dremel I did it again on the light buckets and just about took my leg of but it was worth it
