Your math is flawed slightly. Weight is a function of volume not area.

So a 1/14 scale model should be 1/(14 cubed) or 1/2744. This would make a 100k lb real world equipment equal 36.44 scale weight.

Or think of it this way. a block 1' cubed is not half the weight of a block 2' cubed even though it is 1/2 the size.
