Default New trailer project

While I'm waiting for a few bits for my truck project, I decided to make a start on the trailer to go with it. This is just a teaser, not much to show yet. Don't want to give away too much just yet, but see what you make of this:

The frame needs a little modding, bits sawn off here and there. It won't be that low, frame is just resting directly on axles.
More to come...

Modded the axles, they are designed for a euro trailer so are meant for super singles, so I had to narrow the track. It was worth it though, they look really cool with the air bags.
I cut the aluminium axles down and then slipped the stubs into a brass tube cut to the new length to accept duals.

the original axle is on the far right for comparison.

Thanks guys, the air bags were part of the euro trailer kit. They are made by carson of Germany. I did find a retailer in France that sells them separately but I can't remember where I saw it now! I will try and find it if anyone is interested.

Here's a minor update:
Narrowed the kingpin plate etc to accomodate the narrowed axles. Front axle is where I want it, just need to saw off the tabs either side and make new mounts for the rear axle and saw off the tabs for the landing gear so I can mount that nearer the kingpin. More or less where the gear is in the photo.
